In October, we released Version 3.1 of WinCenter on SharePoint 2013. This new version of the WinCenter Capture and Proposal Management solution from Lohfeld Consulting Group was the first of its kind to take advantage of SharePoint 2013. The robust feature set and extensive configurability of the version 3.1 has been very successful for our customers.
However, a good number of GovCon organizations are still using SharePoint 2010. So, we decided to take a step back for the benefit of those GovCon organizations that are still operating on SharePoint 2010. We have now released WinCenter v3.1 on SharePoint 2010. This means that you can get the more advanced feature set of WinCenter version 3.1 on your existing SharePoint 2010 platform.
How do upgrades to SharePoint 2013 work?
Yes, someday you will probably upgrade to SharePoint 2013. We have a rather interesting way of handling this. WinCenter is built using the CorasWorks application platform which runs on SharePoint. This platform is a layer of functionality between SharePoint and the solution that allows solutions to be built without custom coding. The current CorasWorks platform v11 is a bridge release. This means that the same software runs on SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013. This means that you can deploy WinCenter on SharePoint 2010 and migrate to SharePoint 2013 without actually changing the code behind the solution. There are changes that you’ll want to make to the user interface of the solution or updates for customizations you’ve made. But, at the core you don’t have to worry about code migration from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013.
So, now there is no need to wait until your organization moves to SharePoint 2013 to get going with the best of breed in integrated capture and proposal management systems on SharePoint. You can begin with WinCenter v3.1 today.
