The Importance of Capture Management Recognized at APMP 2014

APMP had their annual 2014 conference in early June.  In the article, WinCenter v3.0 Launched at APMP 2014 and Hits on Best Practice Shifts,  William Rogers talked about the increased emphasis on Capture Management at the conference.

At R3, we are increasingly seeing the impact of this.  Lohfeld WinCenter is the solution that we implement that provides integrated capture management and proposal management.  By design of the industry best practices, the two are simply activities that are part of a single, integrated process.  Yet, historically, they have been separated into siloes – siloes that are reinforced by separate software systems such as a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for capture and a document management system for proposals.

Our customers of WinCenter get it.  They often are using native SharePoint for proposals which they are leaving to use the richer feature set of WinCenter.  If they don’t already own a CRM system, then, they are not intending on buying one.  Instead they are using the powerful feature set of WinCenter for Opportunity Management.  In some cases, where they have historically been using a CRM system they are actually leaving that behind also to do their Capture work in WinCenter.

The reason for this is straight forward, the industry practioners know that if they can get their organization to use a single, integrated, business acquisition process (combining both capture and proposal work) that they will win more business.
