Over the last 10 years they've been leaders in the application of web-based, collaborative technologies based upon Microsoft SharePoint to the needs of business.
Michael Friedenberg, President and Founder
Michael is the founder of R3 and the driver behind our focus on Federal Government Contractors and their success with R3 solutions. He has been a leader in business solution software on the Microsoft platform for more than 25 years.
Most recently, from 2003 until 2009, he served as Co-Founder and Vice President of Products for CorasWorks Corporation, a leading provider of work management software on the Microsoft SharePoint platform. During this time CorasWorks was recognized as one of the fastest growing enterprise software companies in the United States, growing from a startup in 2003 to more than 1,000 customers and greater than 3 million users on all continents.
He left CorasWorks in 2009 to found R3, to focus on providing business solutions to Federal Government Contractors, an industry that he has worked in for 20 years. He is leading R3 to set a new standard of cost-effective business solutions in the contractor industry leveraging the new open application platforms available today.
Michael graduated from Franklin Pierce University.
William A. Rogers, Vice President
William manages the commercial side of the business at R3 including marketing, sales, partnerships, product management, and business operations. He is a serial entrepreneur and intrapreneur for enterprise software. He has built businesses and products within the Microsoft ecosystem for more than 20 years. He served 11 years on the Microsoft Partner Advisory Councils from 2000 to 2011 during the development of web platforms and the evolution of SharePoint into the enterprise service that it is today.
Prior to R3, he co-founded CorasWorks Corporation in 2003. CorasWorks is a leader in work management software on the Microsoft SharePoint platform. William served as its Chairman and CEO from 2003 to 2007, during which time CorasWorks was recognized as one of the fastest growing enterprise software companies in the US and one of the leading Independent Software Companies in the SharePoint ecosystem.
He joined R3 with a background in solutions for Federal Government Contractors. From 2008 until 2014, he served as CorasWorks' Chief Workplace Architect, leading CorasWorks into industry vertical markets including Federal Government Contractors which became the fastest growing segment of the business.
From 1999 to 2003, William worked in the then emerging managed hosting space building the early systems for business applications in the cloud. He lead teams at US Web/CKS, marchFirst, Exodus and Cable & Wireless.
William graduated from Princeton University.
Fernando Vargas, Chief Technology Officer
Fernando has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry. As R3’s Chief Technology Officer, he is responsible for our technology vision and execution. He is a leader in the use of application platforms as part of enterprise shared services environments. Since 2003, he has focused on SharePoint-based enterprise environments and applications.
Prior to joining R3, Fernando spent 6 years directing the Enterprise Portals and Collaboration services team at the Pan American Health Organization. PAHO, as regional office of the World Health Organization, has over 2,000 employees working across 35 countries in the Americas. In this role, he provided all collaborative enterprise services, applications, and application platforms to users across this global, mission critical enterprise organization.
Fernando has mastered technology and its application from the bottom up. He spent 15 years in various roles and projects at PAHO as a team lead, systems analyst, developer, and project lead. His experience ranged from enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, to business applications, core infrastructure systems, enterprise security, and global information systems. This includes his work directing the development, deployment and operation of the global PAHO information systems that supported polio eradication and epidemiological surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases and immunization activities throughout the Americas.
Fernando obtained his Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland University College in Computer and Information Science. He also has professional certifications in Epidemiology Intelligence Services (EIS) from CDC, Atlanta, GA and Emory University Rollins School of Public Health.
